Know exactly when you can stopand whether your money lasts.
Northing is the UK wealth cockpit for people who manage their own money. See your true net worth across every wrapper, track your allowances, and model your FIRE date and the pension bridge — without handing over a single bank login.
Most trackers see one number. Northing sees the tax. One toggle re-cuts your net worth into what’s tax-free now, what’s taxable, and what’s locked away until you can reach your pension — with the unlock age shown. It’s the moment a spreadsheet starts to feel naïve.

Model your FIRE date, live
Drag a slider — savings, stop-work age, spending — and watch your FIRE date and the pension bridge move in real time. The interaction a spreadsheet can never make pleasant.
Model a home purchase on your own timeline and Northing checks three things at once — the cash to complete (deposit, stamp duty, fees), what a lender will actually lend, and whether the repayments hold — then shows what the move does to your FIRE date. A house, a windfall, a sale: drop it on your timeline and watch the plan re-settle.

Hitting your number isn’t the same as surviving the tax.
Most calculators stop at “4% of your pot.” Northing keeps going — it draws your pensions, ISAs and savings down in the order real UK tax demands, withholds the tax you’ll actually pay, and runs your plan across thousands of market outcomes. So you see two dates: the optimistic one, and the honest one.

Without a single bank login
The apps that asked for your bank logins are the ones that died. Northing keeps your money manual and your market data automatic — the privacy this audience rightly insists on, treated as a feature, not a gap.

Questions, answered
Is this built specifically for the UK?
Yes. Northing understands ISAs, LISAs, SIPPs, workplace and DB pensions, GIAs and Premium Bonds; it tracks your allowances against the 6 April–5 April tax year; and it models the gap between stopping work and pension access age (57 from 2028) and the State Pension. Global trackers treat the UK as a currency symbol — this does not.
Do you connect to my bank?
No, and that is deliberate. You add and value accounts yourself, which keeps the numbers accurate and fully under your control. Investment holdings are the exception: their prices refresh automatically from Yahoo Finance and CoinGecko, so the figure stays fresh without any logins.
What is free, and what is Premium?
Free covers the basics — up to 5 accounts, 12 months of history, the wrapper lens and your ISA allowance. Premium (£59/yr per household) unlocks unlimited accounts and history, the full FIRE engine with the bridge and live scenarios, pension taper and carry-forward, and household mode for you and your partner.
Can my partner use it too?
Yes. Household mode puts both of you under one subscription with your own logins, three lenses (you, your partner, together), shared goals, and a true household FIRE projection across both your pension access and State Pension ages.
How is my data kept safe?
There are no bank logins to leak. Your data is encrypted in transit and isolated per-account with row-level security, and sensitive figures can be blurred on screen at any time.
How is this different from a spreadsheet or a global tracker?
A spreadsheet cannot encode UK allowance and pension-access logic, and it never taps you on the shoulder before 5 April. Global trackers (Kubera, Finary, getquin) are wrapper-blind — they cannot tell a pound in an ISA from a pound in a SIPP. Northing is built around exactly that distinction.
Will my money actually last in retirement?
That is the question Northing is built to answer honestly. Rather than stopping at the optimistic "4% of your pot" rule, it draws your pensions, ISAs and savings down in a tax-accurate order, then runs your plan across thousands of market outcomes to show how often it survives — a Monte-Carlo confidence range, not one hopeful line. These are estimates of your own numbers, not financial advice.
Does Northing account for tax when I retire?
Yes — that is the whole point. It models UK decumulation as it really works: the order you draw down GIA, ISA and pension, UFPLS withdrawals from your SIPP, the personal-allowance taper, and pension annual-allowance carry-forward. So the retirement date you see is the after-tax one, not a headline that quietly ignores the tax you will pay.
Can it tell me if I can afford to buy a house?
Northing models a home purchase on your timeline and checks three things at once: the cash to complete (deposit, stamp duty for the current tax year, and fees), what a lender is likely to lend, and whether the repayments are sustainable — then shows the move’s true cost in time as a shift in your FIRE date. It is indicative only, not a mortgage offer; lenders assess differently.
Can I track holdings in other currencies?
Yes. Add holdings priced in other currencies and Northing converts them to your base currency automatically, with prices refreshed daily — so your net worth stays accurate without any manual conversion.
